MEES

There are new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) required for lettings in England and Wales from April 2018. Oyster offer an inexpensive path to help businesses comply.

Oyster Energy is primarily a supplier to businesses of energy performance certificates and
recommendations on how to improve energy efficiency. Upon receipt of your order we will agree
an appropriate time to visit the premises to conduct the survey. On return to our offices we enter
all the data into government approved software, which then calculates the energy performance of
the building and makes recommendations on possible ways to improve the efficiency.

giving an indication of the cost and payback period.

What level?

Commercial buildings are categorised according to the complexity of their energy demands:

Level 3 – most buildings with boiler systems and or air conditioning units, simple ventilation.

Level 4 – buildings with more complex boiler systems, variable air volume cooling systems, VAV systems,
central air-conditioning plant. Building Regulation compliance purposes e.g. New Builds.

Level 5 – very complex modern buildings having atria,
automatic blind control, night-time cooling, demand controlled ventilation.
